Guided Tours

The key tours I offer:

The highlights of the Square Mile, from its Roman roots 2,000 years ago, to its high rise future.

The Great Fire of London - discover the true story of the devastating fire of 1666. Hear the words of diarist Samuel Pepys who famously recorded the event; and discover some Medieval gems that survived the inferno.

Architecture - a tour of the dramatic built environment, from the remains of the Roman wall, to 20th century iconic structures by celebrated architects Richard Rogers and Norman Foster. We marvel at the magnificence of Sir Christopher Wren’s churches and baroque masterpiece, St Paul’s cathedral.

Green spaces and hidden gardens - Join me for a tour of the City’s secret green spaces; discover the rare species living in this historic centre; and find out about the pioneers of past and present who nurture these important havens.

City of Love - a romantic tour for couples wishing to celebrate a special event. We follow in the footsteps of playwright William Shakespeare; take a peek at romantic Victorian art; and visit the London church that inspired the design of the wedding cake.

I am also very happy to discuss tailoring a tour to meet your specific interests.

Accessibility - If you have any special needs, please get in touch so that we can ensure the tour is accessible for you.

Reviews

“Sarah was truly delightful. She got us all excited even before we started to walk, with her effervescence and enthusiasm. She proved to be a true expert on the history of the City’s ‘hidden’ gardens, including interesting people stories. We didn’t want the tour to end!”

- Nancy, visitor from Lausanne, Switzerland - May 2024

“I can totally recommend this City of London tour. It’s a really clever blend of historical overview and contemporary references to wellbeing and the environment. Sarah’s genuine enthusiasm, and her knowledge, makes for a very engaging session.”
