Biography

I have lived in London for 27 years.  As a lawyer I spent the majority of my career in the City of London.  Passionate about travel, history and exploring (including what is on our doorstep) I qualified as a City Guide in 2022 and would love to show you around.

I offer private, group and corporate tours for visitors and locals.  From 1 or 2 people up to 30. A selection of my more popular tours is below yet I can also create bespoke tours in line with your interests.

Guided Tours

The story of the City through its history, people and buildings

From the roman invasion of AD43 to today we explore how this great City was built and is still building.  Always a place of trade and continual development we meet famous citizens Samuel Pepys and Sir Christopher Wren and explore their contribution, yet also see and hear how modern architects from Norman Foster to Renzo Piano have changed the skyline forever.

City Highlights

Great buildings of the City: Including St Paul's Cathedral, Old Bailey, Guildhall, Mansion House, Royal Exchange, Bank of England, Leadenhall Market, Lloyds, the "Cheesegrater" and the Roman Wall.

Wren's City Churches

300 years following his death we celebrate the life and work of Sir Christopher Wren in a tour of his much loved City Churches, constructed after the Great Fire of 1666.  Over 50 were attributed to Wren and 23 survive today.  What surprises is how every one is different.  We visit a selection, some better known - St Mary-Le-Bow and St Stephen Walbrook and others you may never knew existed !

Roman London

How Londinium began.  Journey right back into time. Hear the story of the original roman settlement and see where London's roman baths, amphitheatre, temple, market and town hall were/are located and how the romans still define the City to this day.

City by Night/City after work/Team building

As the sun goes down join us as the City lights come up.  An after work 60-75 minute tour is ideal for team building sessions and provides something other than work to discuss in the pub !

Corporate bespoke tours

Available for visiting executives/employees who want to explore the square mile between corporate deals.

Outside the City: -

British Museum/National gallery

The British Museum is the UK's most visited attraction bringing the cultures of the world under one roof.  Understand the iconic Rosetta Stone that unlocked the secrets of the Egyptian hieroglyphs, marvel at the Parthenon marbles and explore so much more with your expert guide.

The National Gallery is home to some of the greatest works of western European art and with works by Leonardo da Vinci, Titian,  Constable, Turner, Monet and Van Gogh what's not to love.  No previous knowledge necessary, let your guide explain it all...

Most of the above tours last approximately 90 minutes yet if you would like shorter or longer, no problem, just ask.

King's Cross/Granary Square - a modern day success story

One of the funkiest parts of London yet 20 years ago it was derelict. Discover the story of Granary Square and one of the largest regeneration projects in Europe this century.  From industrial wasteland to high tech hub (home of the Google landscraper) this is an area brimming with culture, shops, restaurants, bars and amazing light and water features.
