General city tour, Literary tours, Religion, The Great Fire of London, The River Thames.
I'm Robert French, raised in New Eltham (South East London). I've spent a lot of time over the last few years studying for two qualifications, reading and building a library about London. I like quirky links between people and places, literature, singing and humour, so I try to keep my tours entertaining and light-hearted but grounded in fact.
I'm qualified as a City of London and Clerkenwell and Islington guide.
I have a good grounding in the workings of the City and its instituations through my other job as a finance manager - I'm a qualified management accountant and have been Head of Treasury for a major UK corporate.
Put that together and hopefully you get an enjoyable and insightful tour!
Recently: Charles Dickens in the City, Roman London, London's River, City Computers (The Accountants' Tour), City Ages (the City through history), Great Fire of London.
I specialise in commissions and themes, but am also happy to do a general introduction to suit. For me it's important that the group has fun and gets what they want out of the walk.
