I am an award-winning science guide-lecturer and practising palaeontologist specialising in the urban geology of the City of London. An architectural tour with a difference. Through the building stones and fossils found in the streets, I guide visitors through the history of life on Earth, bringing cutting-edge research vividly to life. After earning my PhD from the University of London, I spent the first part of my academic career as a research fellow and then as a senior lecturer in Asia and Australia before returning to the UK. My tours explore the history and philosophy of science, engineering and medicine, tracing the lives and achievements of the great scientists who lived and worked within the Square Mile. These include figures such as Christopher Wren, Robert Hooke and Edmond Halley. We encounter their legacy through the buildings they created or influenced, including The Monument to the Great Fire of London and St Paul's Cathedral. I am a Freeman and resident of the City, Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of, and a Freeman of the Barber Company. As a London Blue Badge Guide, I can also guide you around St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, the British Museum, the office of Sir Isaac Newton, the Tower of London.
