The tours of the City's historic Guildhall featured on this page are those arranged for the general public.  If you are organising a private event in the Guildhall complex and would like to offer your guests a tour of the various rooms or other guiding services please contact

The regular tour of the City's historic Guildhall starts promptly at 10.45 am and ends at 12 noon. It takes place on the days of the City's Common Council meeting so that visitors can subsequently attend that meeting and see the City's democracy in action.

The tour lasts up tp an hour and a half and costs £7 per person.

Please note that places on the tour must be booked in advance and your booking will only be valid when it is confirmed. 

To book a place on a tour please e-mail Christine Jarvis at and say that you want to come on a Guildhall tour, how many people would like to come and on what date. The names of the people coming on the tour are required in advance to allow the tour to start promptly. Please provide the names when booking if possible. Please include a telephone number in case of any queries.

If any of your party have mobility difficulties, and in particular if they use a wheelchair, mention this, so that appropriate arrangements can be made for them.

Bookings can also be made for groups on other dates by contacting the Remembrancer's Office at or on 020 7606 3030. There is a maximum number of 25 people on these group tours and the cost will be £60. Please note, once you have booked a time with the Remembrancer’s Office, you will need to contact us at so that we can arrange a guide for your tour. Please provide the same information as requested above.
