Biography

I've lived in London for over 25 years and have a never-ending fascination with the City - and history in general. I'm also an amateur actor and director and do like to show off my theatrical skills!

I offer tailor-made tours of the City, and as a London Blue Badge Guide I can also guide you around St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, the British Museum or the Tower of London as well as other sights around London and beyond. Groups I've taken around the City include livery companies, city businesses, arts societies and U3As.

Reviews

"Guy is a great guide, very passionate about the City of London, he knows all of its nooks and crannies and interesting details with history at every corner mixed. It was an introduction to an offbeat, hidden part of London that most don’t get to see, and a thoroughly enriching and entertaining experience."

LE Mumbai, India

"Guy gave us a really fun and informative tour of Mercers Hall. He has humour, smiles and presents information in an entertaining manner. Thanks for a great morning"

R Levene, London

"Guy escorted a group of U3A members around Vintners hall yesterday and everyone thought that he'd done a brilliant job. We'd certainly recommend him to others for his breadth of knowledge and good humour"

Stuart T, Mill Hill U3A

"We had a great virtual tour of Vintners Hall, from the comfort of our own home on a wet Thursday afternoon. Guy kept us entertained for an hour with is virtual tour, that flowed with his narration, pictures, videos and the added antidotes. Followed up with a Q & A session from a variety of our friends, which he answered from his excellent knowledge of the subject. We had a bit on Swan Upping, plus a behind the scenes trip to the wine cellar and how it is chosen and brought. Excellent visit - hope to do it in person...later"

CR8, Surrey

"What a fascinating history of the architecture, culture and residents. Well researched and expert delivery as always. I thoroughly recommend Guy's tours, both virtual and in person and very much look forward to the next one!"

Emma C, Dorset

"Guy undertook a guided tour of the City of London as part of a company social event. He liaised with me in advance and came up with a great tour which met the brief perfectly. I had excellent feedback from my colleagues and wouldn't hesitate to recommend 'Guy the Guide'!"
