Hi, my name is Elena. Originally from Italy, I’ve been a proud London resident for over 35 years.
After a career in languages, I’ve rediscovered my childhood passion for history. After years of showing visitors around London simply for the joy of sharing this wonderful city, I am now a qualified and accredited Camden guide and City of London guide and I have been guiding professionally since 2021.
What fascinates me most is history with a small “h”: the everyday lives of the people who walked, lived and occasionally misbehaved on the same streets we are exploring today. I love uncovering the traces they left behind and imagining their stories as we walk through the city.
I’m always happy to create tailored tours around a particular theme or special occasion. All my walks are also available in Italian.
I have been working as a professional tour guide since 2021. After qualifying as a Camden Tour Guide, I spent my first few years specialising in tours across the Borough of Camden, developing an in-depth knowledge of its history, culture and diverse neighbourhoods. Since then, I have expanded my portfolio to include tours in other parts of London, the City in particular, covering a wide range of themes and locations. Alongside my own tours, I work as a freelance guide for a number of tour companies and visitor platforms, delivering engaging and informative experiences to both UK and international visitors.
My special interests include women’s history, medicine and crime, and I’m especially keen to guide in some of London’s lesser-known corners. I am also a volunteer tour guide at Highgate Cemetery and a FROG, volunteering for the Thames Discovery programme.
