Biography

Hi! I am Amos and I have been living in the greater London area for 20 years.

Loving history and architecture, I started to walk the streets of London, exploring its stories and hidden secrets. First on my own, using guiding books, and then by joining professional guides. When I realized I sometimes know the places as good as the guides, I decided to become one! So here I am, a certified City of London Guide!

Let me share my passion to this city with you. Its 2000 years of history, its architecture, its art galleries and museums. But most of all, London is its people. Let me show you the vibrant, colourful, resourceful and brilliant people that made this city what it is – the greatest city on the planet!

The City of London is over 2000 years old. Let me take you on a journey to show you how this city was created, developed and became one of the major financial and cultural hubs on earth. The “Square Mile” refers to the small geographic area which we call “The City”. It is a city within a city, with its own governing body and even its own police force! Although small, this area holds significant importance to the UK’s history and economy.

The city during the Blitz

The “Blitz” was when the German Luftwaffe bombed London between September 1940 and May 1941. Come with me through the city’s streets, to explore the extent of this event and the damage it caused. We will see actual damage which remains to this day and some sites which were exposed by the bombings. We will hear about how life used to be for Londoners and stories about local heroes.
