Free Walks by City of London Guides for Silver Sunday 3 October 2021
City of London Guides are delighted to support Silver Sunday - a national day for older people. Join us for a free 1 hour guided walk in the City of London on 3rd October.
The walk theme is “Visions, Values and Victories”, inspired by the London Marathon taking place the same day.
Limited places per tour - book via Eventbrite to guarantee your place, or turn up on the day to see when we have additional spaces available.
Starting at 10am, walks depart every 30 minutes until 3pm
Times: 10am, 10:30am, 11am, 11:30am, 12noon, 12:30pm, 1pm, 1:30pm, 2pm, 2:30pm, 3pm.
Route: We start at St Paul’s tube station (exit 2) and end at Old Bailey
Walk with us through centuries of history and discover some of the key Visions, Values and Victories that have shaped today’s City of London. We start in the shadow of Wren's masterpiece, St Paul’s Cathedral. During the tour we’ll stop to explore memorials of everyday heroes and hear stories of martyrs and rebels. You’ll find out how a 12th Century courtier's vision led to London's oldest hospital, discover a surprising statue of Justice, and much more!
Please note: This tour is wheelchair accessible, and includes approx 1 km of walking (total) in between stops. Seating is available at some of the stops. Walks will run rain or shine.

In addition, you can visit some of the City's delightful gardens, while in the evening take a stroll along the river to admire London's bridges, now beautifully lit thanks to the Illuminated River Project.
Note: We try to make our walks as inclusive and accessible as possible.
