Biography

Hi, I’m Peng, also known as The Peregrinating Penguin.

I grew up in Singapore, but my relationship with the City of London started in the 1980s, when I was a trainee radiologist at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. I now live on the eastern edge of the City.

I have an MA in Art History from the Open University, which I obtained while working as a consultant radiologist. After retiring from medical practice, I did an MA in Architectural Conservation at the National University of Singapore.

All proceeds from my walks go to the Isokon Gallery in London, where I'm  a Volunteer Coordinator and Trustee (do visit us).

In addition to all aspects of the City of London, my interests include architecture, art, design, food and drink, and Venice.

Reviews

"Today we visited the Guildhall Art Gallery for the first time and we really enjoyed it. Peng, our guide, showed us some very interesting paintings, both by renowned artists and relatively unknown ones. For each of them Peng provided us with lots of information about the origin of the artworks. We also learned a lot about the history of the building, about the City of London, and the latest discovery of the Roman amphitheatre. The overall experience is very well worth repeating and one that we highly recommend to everybody."  EA, Zurich
