Free guided walks led by City of London guides
The City of London is amazing – and a qualified City Guide will help you discover its delights. The City, also known as the Square Mile, is the financial heart of London. It has been central to British history for centuries, and contains historic buildings from many ages. The theme this year is “Pomp & Pageantry”. Your guide will take you to fascinating places and tell stories of people, events and traditions connected with them including the Lord Mayor’s Show.
The walks will cover the history and knowledge of the City of London with the loose theme of "Pomp & Pageantry" in the City. The walks are turn up & go. There are three different routes, allocated at random, each lasting about 1 hour and all ending up at Blackfriars in time for the fireworks. Walks start at about 3pm, last walk approx. 4pm. but the walks leaving between 3.30 and 4.00 may be curtailed or arrive when the better viewing places for the fireworks have already been taken.
Starting from Bucklersbury Passage, No 1 Poultry, the large pink and white building near Mansion House, by Bank underground station. The pace is gentle and suitable for all ages. The routes will be wheelchair friendly, with no steps and few hills.
Walks are FREE, but donations to the Lord Mayor’s Appeal would be welcome.
We look forward to seeing you on the 11th November 2017.

Nearly all the regular walks and tours offered on this website are just turn up and pay. For these walks no advanced booking is possible. There are only two tours that need to be booked in advance (Smithfield Market walks and Guildhall tours) because of restricted numbers.
