Biography

I am a fully Qualified London Black Taxi Driver and Cab Guide and City of London Guide

I left school at the age of 16 and worked as a cattleman on a farm in rural Hertfordshire. At 17 I joined the British Army and served as a trooper in The Blues and Royals, one of the two regiments of the Household Cavalry (Queen’s Lifeguard). During this time I saw active service and travelled the world (USA, Europe). At 21 I joined London’s Metropolitan Police Service and for most of the next 30 years worked in a wide variety of different roles both as a uniform officer and a detective.  I spent the vast majority of that on the streets of London.

Having completed the Knowledge of London I retired from the Met and am now taking great pleasure driving the iconic London Black Taxi and showing my customers this great city with its amazing history, cultural heritage and traditions.

Come and join me as I share my passion for exploring London’s iconic world famous landmarks as well as some hidden gems and witness the rich diversity of London life.

I am more than happy to provide a “bespoke” tour, tailored to your requirements. I will drive you in the comfort of my London Black Taxi whilst telling you all about the different areas we pass through, and of course we can stretch our legs and walk around some of the amazing sights of London.

If you’d like to see some of the beautiful English countryside, I am happy to take you outside London on day trips visiting historical sites with lovely breaks at a classic country pub or a traditional English tearoom.
